the power within. impact beyond. Unlocking female potential to create more human, resilient and future-ready organisations

The moment that changed Marja’s understanding of leadership did not happen at a conference or in a boardroom. It happened in a company kitchen. Her manager paused, looked at her, and simply asked: how are you? An ordinary question. Yet she still remembers the goosebumps. Not because of the words, but because of the presence behind them. For the first time in a long while, she noticed how she was doing beneath all the functioning. That distinction, between performing and being present, between adapting to a system and being genuinely connected to oneself, is the entire territory of the work she now does through STEP AHEAD and her OWN YOUR POWER trainings and keynotes. More than fourteen years running an international event management business and working alongside exceptional female leaders taught her the same thing that moment in the kitchen did: the challenge for most talented women is not capability. It is connection to themselves.

THE MISSING PIECE IS NOT CAPABILITY. IT IS CONNECTION.

Two encounters after a leadership conference crystallised Marja’s central insight with particular force. The first was with an inspiring executive whose ideas during a post-keynote conversation were substantive and brilliant. Asked why she was not on stage sharing them, the woman replied: “I am not good enough yet. I still have so much to learn.” We all know this phenomenon… We might know on our own as it feels like and at the same time – Marja can’t say this often enough – YOU ARE MORE THAN READY!

The second was with a woman who had twenty years of leadership experience in the IT industry and had resigned from a new global role after only six months, not because she lacked competence, but because every male-dominated board meeting had become a constant fight to be heard.

Both stories point to the same place. When women are deeply connected to their inner strength, they stop asking whether they are enough and simply bring their voice, ideas, and perspective into the world. When that connection is absent, even the most capable leader can spend her energy managing the question of her own legitimacy rather than actually leading. Space

Marja’s work is grounded in the conviction that everything women need is already there. What is sometimes missing is not another certification or strategy. It is the space to reconnect to the power and wisdom within – naturally given to us from the moment we are born, yet often layered over throughout life by social conditioning, limiting beliefs, patriarchal systems and thought patterns that disconnect us from it.

BEYOND KNOWLEDGE: THE POWER OF EMBODIED RESILIENCE

Marja’s concept of embodied resilience begins with a simple question: Where is your attention? It can be directed towards the world around us, towards our thoughts, or towards ourselves. Most of us move between the first two. Yet it is the third—presence—that creates the space for resilience to grow.

Not because presence allows us to escape pressure, but because it changes our relationship with it. Pressure is, at its core, neutral energy. When we meet it from a grounded and connected place within ourselves, that energy can become power rather than overwhelm.

Resilience is often approached through knowledge and concepts—learning strategies and acquiring new skills. But understanding something does not necessarily change how we respond in the moment. Lasting change begins when knowledge moves from the mind into the body and becomes lived experience. This is what Marja means by the embodied dimension.

When we come back into our bodies, reconnect with our breath, sensations and inner experience, we become more present. The nervous system can regulate, thinking becomes clearer, the voice becomes steadier and the body opens. Instead of performing confidence, women begin to embody it.

Over time, this creates something far more powerful than a temporary feeling. It builds the capacity to stay connected to ourselves while navigating pressure, uncertainty and change—and to meet life not simply by reacting to what happens, but from a grounded place of inner strength.

MONOCULTURES AND ECOSYSTEMS: WHAT NATURE TEACHES ABOUT NATURAL GROWTH

Marja draws one of her most powerful metaphors for organisational change from nature. Nature does not thrive through monocultures. It thrives through diversity, interaction and the co-creation of different qualities. This is what makes an ecosystem resilient, adaptable and able to evolve.

For decades, leadership cultures have largely rewarded performance, speed, control and optimisation. These qualities remain essential. The opportunity now is to complement them with qualities such as presence, empathy, intuition, trust and genuine human connection. While these are not exclusively feminine qualities, many women have a natural access to them. And when rooted in presence, they become powerful expressions of authentic leadership.

In an AI-driven world, sustainable success will depend on bringing these complementary strengths together. Many organisations have already strengthened the external conditions for women through flexible working models, parental support and leadership programmes..

The next step is to invest in the inner development of women—to create the space for them to reconnect with their authentic strengths, build embodied resilience and fully unfold the potential they already carry within them.

Because the real impact is bigger than an individual journey . It is the ability to move people from within, to shape cultures where people can truly thrive, and to bring more humanity into the way organisations perform, evolve and create the future.

OWN YOUR POWER: WHERE INSIGHT BECOMES LIVED EXPERIENCE

OWN YOUR POWER is how Marja turns this inner development into experience. In her keynotes, she explores what holds women them back from fully stepping into their power, discovers small shifts that strengthen self-efficacy, and reconnects with the female impact organisations need more than ever—especially in times of AI. The keynote closes with a sound activation, inviting women to experience the power of the present moment and reconnect with their own uniqueness.

For organisations and women ready to go further, Marja offers immersive, nature-based OWN YOUR POWER trainings designed to create an experiential field rather than prescribe a single path. Through nature, sensory activation, sound, body and mind practices, women explore different pathways to presence and connection, discovering what truly strengthens them. A six-plus-week integration journey with daily practices and group mentoring helps translate these experiences into individual routines and lasting change.

The aim is not a temporary boost, but lasting change: creating women who know how to access their own strength and lead from clarity—not only when things are easy, but precisely when they are not.

WHEN INNER STRENGTH BECOMES VISIBLE

The sentence that has stayed with Marja’a most persistently from the women she works with is one of the simplest: through Marja, I learned to make myself a priority again. She describes this as where every transformation begins. Whether the conversation is about leadership, career, relationships, or performance, everything shifts when a woman stops living only from external expectations and starts leading from herself.

She has seen women who no longer hide behind their expertise but finally dare to let themselves be seen, who step onto stages and speak up in meetings and take opportunities they would once have talked themselves out of before space

What moves her most is not the confidence itself but the moment of recognition: the discovery that the qualities they had often tried to suppress, because they seemed too emotional, too intuitive, too soft, are exactly what allows them to move people. space

The advice she would leave every woman: “Recognize how unique you already are—in your strengths, your talents, your way you thinking, speaking and connecting with others. It’s not about knowing more. It’s about fully owning your power and allowing your authentic voice, perspective and way of being to be felt by the world around you.”
